The Bedford area offers a fantastic environment in which to live.

Bedford, with its Victorian parks and green open space, lies on the iconic River Great Ouse. The surrounding countryside is well served with footpaths and bridleways which often lead to historic villages many with great village pubs that serve locally produced ale and fresh local produce.

Our growth plans will protect and enhance this unique environment by developing in a sympathetic and sustainable way. New villages are being supported with transport improvements and we have prioritised both green and blue infrastructure projects ranging from new forests, woodland and meadows to new lakes that will help create the kind of place you’d love to work and live in.
