Center Parcs is coming to Bedfordshire!

Center Parcs are scheduled to open their 5th holiday village in the summer of 2013. The holiday village is set to be built within Warren Wood, Millbrook. This will bring many business opportunities to the area, to both submit proposals for both the construction of the holiday village and for the supply of goods and services once the village is operational.

Martin Dalby. Center Parcs' Chief Executive said, " This approval is another key milestone in our project and we would like to thank Central Bedfordshire Council for their continued support and co-operation over the last year."

Public relations manager at Center Parcs Simon Kay said: "we have now completed everything we needed to do prior to completion, which we are delighted with. We have transformed what was a very bad junction into a brand new roundabout on the A507 at Millbrook, built right of way footpaths and there is a brand new cycle route. we are really pleased with how things are progressing and we are still on schedule for a 2013 opening."

The 341-acre plot of land will be transformed into a forest holiday village that will include 700 villas, 75 bedroom hotel, indoor sports facilities, swimming pool, restaurants, retail units and spa, costing around £160 million to build.

Councillor Ken Matthews, executive member for economic development and strategic planning at Central Bedfrodshire Council, said: "The development of Center Parcs will bring major benefits to the local area, not only by creating lots of new jobs, but my our local economy and tourism thrive." Regarding the plannign issues and roadworks he said: "The Millbrook roundabout and new public footpath was opened on September 15th and now plans are all go to begin the construction of the forest village itself.
